Devious Journal Entry

Sat Apr 4, 2009, 9:16 PM
I obviously have not been in a very artsy mood the past week or so, although I have been planning on doing a charcoal of Aeris/Aerith.

I've been looking for jobs lately and realize I desperately need some skills (or job experience would be a start). Many of the jobs I am interested in (and aspire to) require knowledge of C++. I took AP Computer Science in high school and hated it! Granted, it was Java, but I can't imagine I'd like C++ any better. Maybe I'd enjoy programming if I have a goal in mind. We'll find out. I'm going to try getting into an online programming course at a community college.

I've also been drawn towards the art concept positions at video game companies. Many companies are in the Bay Area which is terrific! Maybe I should work on another undergrad in art while working on my MBA? Perhaps art & programming would be a better route than a masters in library science. It would be great to work with games for a living and with so many positions available, it shouldn't be too hard to get an internship and eventual job. Hm...or perhaps just try for the writing/editing positions.

So many possibilities...ooo! I believe the last patch finished downloading for my reinstallation of Warcraft. Exciting!

Omg the dragons and wolf are amazing!!!!!! It's all amazing! I would love to commission that artist to make me some dragons.

Hey, you never showed me most of this stuff (pokes). Very good by the way, your usage of color is beautiful.

Untamed, undefeated and completely unstoppable, there exists no soul upon this Earth that can bring me to my knees. I live by honor and shall die fighting on my feet.

Aw well thanks. I e-mailed you Yuna & Sephiroth before, and I remember showing you the swans back in CT. After that you drew a rose of your own. : ) I had a lot of fun drawing Yuna, although I wish her face had turned out better.

Btw my dad is excited because he's watching Spiderman 3 for the first time.

Yeah, I wasn't as much a fan of the 3rd spider-man movie, I thought it was very disappointing. My father came up with a better storyline for it.

I love your icon thingy! And that picture you color penciled of the bird is amazing!
:icongreen-tea-gal:
Thanks! My icon is actually a smaller version of a picture I drew last January. You can see it here: [link] I can make you an icon if you want :D

I couldn't resize what I was working on. I wanted to use a small portion of the dragon drawing I just put on deviant. When I tried to resize, it would zoom in on a weird part of the drawing. Any tips?
:icongreen-tea-gal:
1. load your picture into Microsoft's ';paint' program
2. crop the image to get the exact bit you want
3. select 'sketch /skew' and reduce the image as small as the pixel requirement is for an icon (found on the icon upload section of the site)
4. you might need to trim it down by a few pixel lines- you can do that manually by zooming in on the small picture and using the resizing corner of the picture edge to bring the image in.

.... I hope that makes sense, I'm typing this at work from memory o.o
